Debur, dimple and prime R. elevator

Sat, Dec 8th 2007

We started the day with disassembling the right elevator and then countersinking the lead E-714 counterweight. They directions also call for dimpling E-713 for the screw heads that attach E-714, but since we don't have the right size of dimple die, I'll just use the screw head to dimple the skin when we put the screws in. We also deviated from the directions a little for the E-709 to E-702- instead of countersinking E-702, I thought it would be better to dimple for the AN-426 flush head rivets. I just like the idea of there being more material there. After we deburred and dimpled all of the parts, I beveled the edges of E-713 where the E-701-R skin overlaps it, then primed all of the parts. Again, not too many pictures taken.
