Riveting the trailing edge
Sun, Nov 18th 2007
This was a quick pretty quick job. I took out all of the clecos holding the rudder trailing edge to the workbench and cleaned all of the dimples that had some leftover adhesive in them. I taped all of the rivets in place, then turned the rudder over and followed the sequence outlined in the instructions for setting the rivets. When it was all over, I had a fairly smooth and straight trailing edge! I thought I would finish up the rudder by installing the rod end bearings (hinges), but I needed to make a tool to get them screwed in all the way. Off to the hardware store!
