Celcoing the tailcone

Fri, Jun 4th 2010

We had company this weekend, and I put my friend John to work helping me turn a few little pieces into a much larger piece- we clecoed the aft fuselage together. We started by drawing a centerline down the j-stringers, then clecoing the F-706, -707, -708 and -710 bulkheads to the F-778 aft bottom skin. Next, we layed the j-stringers into place, and then clecoed the F-711, -712, -779 assembly, followed by the F-773 side skins. It was great to have someone to help out in bringing a big piece "to life", and showing someone a little of what it's like to build an airplane.
